Vendor Information
Overview
One of the ways the Erie Water Works (EWW) strives to achieve its mission, “to guarantee a continuous, uninterrupted, reasonably priced supply of quality water….” is to establish and maintain performance-driven relationships with its vendors and contractors. Better performance equates to organizational success and we recognize that the partnerships we have with our vendors are vital to EWW’s success.
EWW maintains high standards for the vendors and contractors we do business with and seek partnerships with innovative companies that bring added value to our projects and customers. There are water mains to install, storage tanks to construct, pump stations to update, and many other system improvements to be made. EWW purchases office supplies, vehicles, chemicals and numerous other goods and services on an annual or more frequent basis.
The Bid Process
EWW often utilizes the PennBid Program to solicit for various bidding opportunities. All contract documents are made available online with no upfront cost. Vendors and contractors can submit and update their bids/proposals right from their computers any time before bids are due.
Bids will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder meeting the published contract documents or specifications. Vendors are cautioned when completing the bid/proposal form that all instructions given in the bid/proposal must be followed and the bid/proposal must be returned electronically to the stated address by the time specified in the bid documents. Bids will be opened at the time advertised and published and on the date due. Unsealing of bids is open to the public. Late or improperly delivered bids/proposals will not be considered under any circumstance.
In order to use PennBid, you must register with PennBid. This is a one-time, no cost process. Once registered, users gain access to bid opportunities from over 1,700 public agencies and private firms. Users can also be automatically notified of other opportunities that match their products and services. Should you have any questions, please call PennBid at (610) 693-4769.
