Job Description

Objective:

Implement and maintain the HTE System, scheduling, work orders, materials purchasing and material stockroom.

Responsibilities:

PERSONNEL/MANAGEMENT

  • In conjunction with the Manager of Operations/Maintenance, ensure that the highest caliber individuals are recruited, promoted, trained and developed for all direct report positions.
  • Monitor and maintain Maintenance version of personnel files.
  • Monitor, maintain and update employee’s time punches, time sheets and equalize overtime when appropriate.
  • Maintain and operate work order system, including generating work requests and work orders from and effective scheduling of personnel.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure a proper quantity of supplies and specialty order items. Also, maintain current vendor contracts and assist in all new applicable contracts.
  • Assist Manager of Operations/Maintenance in developing various training and safety programs for the Maintenance Department.
  • Coordinate and facilitate interdepartmental work activities between the Operations, Laboratory and Maintenance Departments.
  • Schedule vehicle maintenance and repairs with EWW Distribution Supervisor and Laborer Mechanic.
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Project Supervisor to maintain work flow, materials and tools.
  • Inspect facilities, input work orders, as well as develop, implement and maintain all current and new preventative maintenance programs.
  • Assist with CIP projects as directed and needed by the Manager of Operations/Maintenance.
  • Maintain lock and key system for all EWW facilities.
  • Other similar and related duties assigned by Manager.

 

REGULATORY/SAFETY

  • Ensure that all safety equipment is provided and maintained for employees use. Inspect and repair as needed to assure proper operation of safety equipment.

 

FINANCE

  • Complete all associated paperwork to maintain proper cost controls and material/costs charged to proper job/work order.
  • Work with Manager to develop yearly budget for Maintenance Department.

 

MATERIALS/SUPPLIES

  • Maintain stockroom and tool crib with materials, reorder when needed.
  • Maintain and restock first aid stations.
  • Work with vendors and suppliers on stock supplies and specialty order items.
  • Purchasing for Maintenance, Operations and Laboratory Departments.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include coordinating, training, and directing work in coordination with both the Maintenance Supervisor and with other departments, but there are no direct reports.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:  A related combination of at least 5-10 years’ hands-on mechanical and/or electrical work experience and/or formal training is required. Preferred qualifications include: BS in Construction Management or a related field; a technical degree in electrical or mechanical fields; previous supervisory experience; and/or experience with project management with contractors and vendors is preferred.

 

SKILLS:  Must be familiar with Computer Windows based systems, MS Office, and various other programs.  Must be able to learn and become proficient at various programs used for work order system.  Organizational skills are required.

Attention to detail specifically with visual and auditory components.

Ability to apply mathematical concepts in relation to engineering solutions (i.e. arithmetic, etc.).

Verbal/written communication skills

Must have the ability to communicate information and ideas effectively with internal and external stakeholders to include EWW management, customers, contractors, and other utilities. Must maintain a positive image within the community.

Reasoning/problem solving

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must be able to interpret a variety of technical instructions, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

 

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind, requiring appropriate attire and adaptability to changing elements. The role involves navigating uneven terrain, including dirt, gravel, and concrete surfaces, which may pose challenges such as mud, debris, or obstructions.
